What does coaching with Aang look like?

The coach that you choose to work with will define the process and areas of exploration and development that you will both choose to move forward with. If you choose to work with me on your journey, I will walk you through a simple process that seeks to help you define, plan, and capitalize on your most important life goals. This six-month coaching process with me will evaluate your progress throughout the coaching period and capture the successes of your progress throughout the journey.

Understanding the process and why it’s crucial to your growth

The first thing we will do on our journey together will be to walk through the 4 content areas that we will work from.

These are 1) Mastering your presence, 2) Mastering your mind and emotions, 3) Mastering your behaviors and habits, and 4) Mastering your community.

Understanding these content areas and the basic premise behind these areas will help to lay the foundation for our sessions and provide insight on where you may want to focus. We will review these in our pre-session calls. Sometimes this can take more than one session and that’s perfectly alright! We will explore your needs and desires around these content areas so that we can set up a great plan to move you toward your goals. In this process, we want you to ask and understand the following:

Ask: How are my thoughts, beliefs, and actions impacting this situation and how can I actively shape my present reality?

Understand: I can create change in my life through mastering my presence, mind and emotions, behaviors, and community.

Exploring your goals and our path

In this part of the coaching process, we will explore your goals and the path that we would like to take to attain those goals. While the goals established in this session are always open to negotiating throughout the process, we want to make sure that you get everything you desire from the process, and we will need a place to start. Of course, this part of the process can take more than one session and that’s perfectly alright.

We will do a deep dive of your self-rated evaluations, content areas for growth, and life goals established in the Three Most Important Questions exercise. This exploration of your needs and desires will establish the foundation of your plan to move you toward your goals. In this process, we want you to ask and understand the following:

Ask: What are the specific goals that I want to explore or complete throughout my coaching process?

Understand: I have the ability to create the changes that I seek through disciplined mastery of my presence, mind and emotions, behaviors and habits, and community.

Mastering your presence

One of the most important things you’ll need to understand as a part of our coaching sessions is your ability to build and strengthen your neural pathways for reframing your mindset and sustained behavior change which starts with your presence. In this process, we want you to ask and understand the following:

Ask: Am I present with my feelings and emotions and how can I be more intentional?

Understand: I can acknowledge what I am feeling and experiencing in the moment and intentionally choose how I respond.

Mastering your mind and emotions

This is no easy feat and will require an understanding of mindfulness, psychology, biology and the habitual practices to focus your thoughts, actively choose positive thoughts, and create and sustain your mindset. In this process, we want you to ask and understand the following:

Ask: How are my thoughts and emotions impacting this situation and how can I make them work for me?

Understand: I can choose to acknowledge these thoughts and emotions and actively reframe them from my wise mind.

Mastering your behaviors and habits

If you are successful in understanding and applying daily practices to find your own presence and clarity, then we will continue to build on the psychology and biology by adding in concepts of neurobiology and building new neural pathways for sustained change. In this process, we want you to ask and understand the following:

Ask: What is keeping me from creating intentional change in this area of my life and how can I shape change?

Understand: I can take small actions every day that change my neural networks to build stronger habits toward my larger goals.

Mastering your community

As mastering presence, finding clarity, and sustaining behavioral habit requires dedicated daily practice, these practices can easily disappear from our life if we do not have a positive and supportive environment to encourage continued growth. In this process, we want you to ask and understand the following:

Ask: Do I engage with powerful, encouraging, and influential allies that can help to inspire my desired changes?

Understand: I can connect with at least 3 allies a week to help support my actions for my desired transformations

Set new goals or clarify existing ones

Sometimes we fall off our path and need help getting back into our daily practices. Maybe we hit a new roadblock, or the techniques we learned were not right and we could not sustain them, that’s perfectly alright! If you want to explore roadblocks or new techniques at any point in our sessions, we can take a look at some tools and techniques and we can find a good fit that will work for you in the long run.

You, as the collaborator in the coaching process with Aang, will get to define the goal or content area that you would like to work on for each session. Even if they are not part of your long-term plan! I understand that life can feel complicated and messy at times and sometimes concerns arise that we feel need our full attention. If you come to a session and need to shift your focus, we will define the goal of that session based on the needs you present to me.

In this process, we want you to ask and understand the following:

Ask: What is arising for me, at this moment, that needs my attention for this session?

Understand: I can request to focus on whatever topic I need to work through in a given session to get the results I need for that moment.

If you decide that you would like to explore coaching with me, please note that I only accept limited collaborators at one time so that I can focus on you and your growth. If you are not able to get in with me at specific time, we will schedule our sessions according to our mutual schedules and you can download the Coaching with Aang App to immediately access resources from me, along with daily insight, meditations, challenges, courses, and behavioral tracking.
